Established in 2008 with the premiere of our self-titled work, Circus Trick Tease has continued to grow in both demand and acclaim. As a company we create, tour, devise, design and present highly skilled, award-winning circus works across Australia and the globe.
Based on Dja Dja Warrung country in regional Victoria, Circus Trick Tease runs a rotating roster of touring productions as well as artist led training, initiatives and sector building incentives.
Led by Creative Director Malia Walsh, the company has gone from strength to strength, winning twelve awards, building a strong fan base and maintaining a constant touring schedule for productions including ‘Straya, Children are Stinky, Can’t Face, Cheer, Brass Monkeys, Werk It and The Farmy Farm.
Internationally we have toured New Zealand, UK, Ireland, EU, China, Dubai and Malaysia. Nationally we have performed in every major city and as a company based on a farm we love touring to remote towns across Australia, so much so we dedicate 3 months to regional touring every year.
We focus on creating sustainable and accessible productions that are high impact and share empowering messages through circus and comedy.
Malia Walsh

Malia Walsh is a multi award winning director with over 16 years experience creating productions which are equal parts skills, narrative and comedy. With a background in both ballet and footy her approach to the arts is both graceful and headstrong.

In 2008 she co-founded the award winning Circus Trick Tease creating their self titeled show to rave reviews and awards. Since then she has directed multiple, award winning and diverse shows under the banner CTT including Children are Stinky, 'Straya, Can't Face, Brass Monkeys and WERK IT.

She has also directed shows for Head First Acrobatics with Godz and Circus Oz to direct Neon and Bubblegum which both went on to win several awards and fantastic accolades.
As a producer Malia has fostered and developed excellent relationships working with: Strut & Fret, Gluttony, Circus Oz, Assembly Edinburgh, Underbelly London, Super Theatre Beijing, La Soiree ltd.

Creative collaborations include: Pyroptix for Hong Kong and Maldives shows, Über Lingua for the opening of the Sydney and Darwin International Festivals, Men of Steel for RAV, Korea and Malthouse season.
